The story began in the early 20th century in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As early as 1901, William S. Harley and the Davidson brothers were working on their first motorised two-wheelers. In 1903, this led to the founding of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company  – the start of a success story that continues to this day.

Over the decades, Harley-Davidson has become far more than just a motorbike manufacturer. The brand has shaped American biker culture and, through films such as *Easy Rider*, has become a symbol of freedom, individuality and the desire to go one’s own way. Models such as the Sportster, the Fat  Boy and the legendary choppers from *Easy Rider* have long since secured their place in motorcycling history.
