Thirty years is a long time – especially in design. Trends come and go, styles change. Many things that once felt new eventually survive only as memories. Until someone rediscovers them and brings them back to life. For three decades, this passion for retro design has been at the heart of Nostalgic-Art.
This anniversary is more than just a number. It is a moment to look back with gratitude – and a promise that what began in 1995 will continue to matter in the years ahead.
How It All Began
Our story started with a trip to England, a suitcase full of retro souvenirs, and a simple idea: making memories visible. Back in Berlin, the first metal signs were created – nostalgic motifs and iconic brands, not as copies of the past but as fresh interpretations.
From those first designs, Nostalgic-Art gradually grew into an international brand. Today, our products are available in more than 50 countries, many of them created in collaboration with well-known brands such as Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Harley-Davidson, and Vespa.

Retro with a Mindset
For us, retro does not mean living in the past. It means choosing what deserves to last.
Our designs are created in Berlin with great attention to detail and respect for the stories behind every motif. Whether it is a metal sign, a tin, or a mug, our products are meant to be durable and full of character. Sustainability is part of that mindset too, from recyclable materials and short supply chains to solar energy.
30 Years – And Still Going
To celebrate our anniversary, we are launching new designs and ideas that show what retro can be today: colorful, confident, and full of personality.
As Managing Director Teja Engel puts it:
“Our products tell stories, often with a wink. For us, retro is not about looking back, but about consciously choosing longevity.”
Thirty years later, we are still driven by what started it all: creativity, quality, and the joy of turning memories into things you can hold in your hands.
We love retro – and after 30 years, we are really just getting started.
